The power of love and kindness always wins over the conflicts that may occur. It is something Disney thought us years ago through a wide variety of cartoons and movies. The lessons we`ve learned, is that if we show our benevolence and are ready to act with courage, then anything and anyone can get in our way. The games that our website features spread Disney`s ideas further. It is a place where adventure shapes itself continuously, and it is up to you to decide what lesson should you learn from those adventures.
But have your ever asked yourself if the power of love and gentleness might be that strong that can stop an ongoing war? We challenge you to think about this, and Disney will give you the answer. Thus, a story that really took place hundreds of years ago, during the process of colonization of North America, tells us about a daughter of a Powhatan Indian tribe`s chief called Pocahontas, whose love for her folk and for mankind in general was so strong and pervasive that was able to soothe the striving between colonists and Native Americans. Let`s catch a glimpse of this beautiful story.
Pocahontas was an eighteen-year old Indian girl. With her raven-black hair, twinkling brown eyes and copper skin, she was a distinctive figure within Powhatan tribe. She is noble and highly spiritual young woman who always brings peace within the tribe and hopes her people will stop quarreling over unimportant things someday. Beside that, she is believed to be able to gain help of forces of the nature, such as wind and ground. Like other Disney characters, she can understand birds` songs and even languages unknown to her. That is due to her belief in higher forces and especially her kindness and nobleness.
When colonists arrive in search for food and settlement on Indian`s territories, there appeared a striving between colonists and Indian folk. Pocahontas finds herself in the middle of the conflict and feels responsible to act. Thus, when english colonist John Smith is sentenced to death she rescues him by covering his body. Indians cannot kill John Smith as by this, they would hurt tribe`s chief`s daughter. The tribe chief – Powhatan – spares the colonist. Later, Pocahontas and John Smith fall in love with each other. She manages to establish peace and understanding between Indians and colonists.
What she tries to teach John Smith, is that kindness, empathy and love for the nature we belong to, is able to overcome anything. We brought you some games featuring Pocahontas with the same purpose – to entertain you, as well as to make you think, and be a little more kind and emphatic. Challenge yourself to beat high scores in our games, but also to be a little more kind. Have fun!
